Being a beach lover, Dr. David moved to the Gold Coast and teamed up with Dr. Andrew Firgaira, after they first became friends at university, to establish and build Oasis Dental Studio.
Dr. David enjoys all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry, and has undertaken postgraduate training in braces and Invisalign®. He now mainly focuses on Invisalign® treatment, where he uses digital planning and 3D imaging to map treatment from start to finish.
With Dental Monitoring, a scanning app which tracks and monitors an Invisalign® patient’s progress, patients may be able to complete treatment with fewer in-person visits while still receiving guidance and support.
David has completed over 500 Invisalign® cases and achieved Black Diamond status in 2024. He has also created a mentoring program for newer Oasis Dental associates, assisting with treatment planning and case oversight. He applies a detailed approach to treatment planning and may incorporate procedures such as composite bonding, teeth whitening and gum lifts where clinically appropriate.

What I love most about my job is…
The people I get to meet! I’ve been practicing on the Gold Coast, Brisbane and Pottsville for over 10 years and have had the pleasure of meeting and treating so many interesting, friendly and funny people! I’ve got a lot of regulars so a 6 month check up often feels more like a catch up than a dental appointment.
The exact moment that I decided I wanted to become a dentist was…
My childhood dentist was a really nice guy. I had to have a fair bit of treatment with him due to an accident to my front teeth as a kid and I was amazed at how he was able to reconstruct everything. I think those things stuck in my mind when I was choosing what to study.

My favourite type of dental treatment is…
I enjoy performing treatments that aim to improve a patient’s oral health, function and appearance. My preferred approach is Align (Invisalign®) – Bleach (Whitening) – Bond (Composite bonding). By straightening, whitening and repairing the edges on the teeth we can conservatively create a natural-looking smile. Treatment outcomes and longevity will vary depending on individual circumstances.
My favourite thing to do on the Gold Coast in my spare time is…
I like to consider myself a bit of a foodie so one of my favourite things to do is to visit and experience Gold Coast, Brisbane and Pottsville evolving cafe and restaurant scene. We are very lucky to have so many amazing places to eat. I’m also a mad AFL supporter – go the Suns!
