Smile! It might never happen
There’s no need to be afraid to give a toothy smile for the camera anymore
It is a time when how we look speaks volumes. It is, if you believe all the studies and surveys out there, a time when how you look is just as important as how much you know. Around Christmas time and around the New Year it seems there is a rise of the number of surveys and studies published. For example, did you know that researchers have found that drinking four cups of caffeinated coffee a day could (potentially, maybe, possibly) help reduce the risk of most major cancers by as much as 50%!
That’s astonishing, it also sounds too good to be true, not to mention that is a lot of coffee a day, every day. As dentists we definitely could not and would recommend drinking four cups of caffeinated coffee a day, think of what that would do to you—and to your teeth!
But what is also astonishing (but probably not equally) is that your looks could be the difference between that job you always wanted and the other person getting it.
Your smile matters…
Imagine walking into a job interview, you have all the right job requirements, you get on really well with the interviewer, your suit is not only immaculate but an expensive tailor-made job; you look the part. Only the other person gets the job. What is worse is that this other person’s clothes are clearly not as good as yours, their shoes are clearly not new and that watch is scuffed and worn.
So why did they get the job and you did not? Your smile. There are now too many surveys which seem to suggest that your smile, the look of your teeth can actively affect your job prospects. In the above scenario, suits were mentioned: according to surveys a healthy, natural-looking smile is more important than an expensive suit.
Making your smile look better than your suit…
It is not as silly as it sounds. A healthy, natural looking smile is the key to success; and self-confidence. Improving or repairing your smile is not a difficult prospect anymore. Thanks to continual advances in cosmetic dentistry, porcelain veneers can now improve or repair your smile for decades to come.
At Oasis Dental Studio we offer porcelain veneers; veneers are thin porcelain shells that are bonded to the front of the teeth which can help with stained, chipped or slightly crooked teeth. There are many great advantages to porcelain veneers such as:
- There is more than twenty years of research and application backing veneers
- Provide a natural looking smile
- Bonding the veneer to the tooth strengthens the tooth
- Preserves the tooth
- The colour of the veneers match the colour of your teeth
At Oasis Dental Studio we want to leave our dental practice with a happy and healthy natural-looking smile. Our dentists treat you in the same they would treat their own family, as we believe that everyone is important.
