Outside of dentistry, James has a strong interest in health and nutrition. His hobbies include surfing, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and playing guitar.

The exact moment that I decided I wanted to become a dentist…
I initially studied Property Development and very quickly realised it wasn’t for me. I come from a family of doctors and have always had an inclination towards health, so I went back to university to study Biomedical Sciences which I discovered a passion for. I did some observing with different doctors and a dentist during my studies and I was drawn towards dentistry as it combined the science background and the ability to use my hands.
What I love most about my job…
Helping patients manage pain or discomfort and supporting improvements in oral function and health.
My favourite type of dental treatment…
Removing wisdom teeth and/or severely compromised teeth. I aim to make the experience as comfortable as possible for patients. Treatment approaches vary depending on individual circumstances.
If I wasn’t a dentist, I would be…
Something in health. A doctor or personal trainer. Either that or the world’s worst professional surfer.
My favourite thing to do on the Gold Coast in my spare time…
Early morning beach coffees, staying active and surfing with friends whenever I can.
