Growing up, Joe always wanted to be a dentist. He was the kid who was always fixing or playing with things with his hands. Over time that has grown into an extreme passion for dentistry and dedication to improving within his field. Joe has trained under a specialist Prosthodontist in Brisbane city and undertaken further studies, including a two year Fellowship in Restorative Dentistry. He is committed to modern dental techniques and being minimally invasive when restoring teeth.
Joe has a particular interest in digital dentistry and the use of digital scanners and DSLR photos to educate patients, plan and document their treatment. He loves assessing the whole mouth and how it relates to the overall health of his patients. His favourite procedures are a mix of restorative (crowns, onlays, fillings) and surgical dentistry (wisdom teeth and implant surgeries).
Outside of work, Joe will be found at the beach surfing, in the gym or watching any form of sport on TV.

What I love most about my job is…
Meeting new people everyday and helping them restore and maintain their oral health and confidence in their smile. I really enjoy creating a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere for anxious patients so that they can get over their fears of the dentist and enjoy their visits. I also love that there is such a broad range of treatments that I enjoy and that no day is the same.
My favourite type of dental treatment is…
When I was young and had a great dentist growing up. I remember going to them and always having a positive experience, the entire team was happy and laughing and they were helping people everyday and at the same time doing some really cool treatment. Throughout high school it just made more and more sense to me so much so that I didn’t really have a plan B…
If I wasn’t a dentist, I would be…
A chef – after watching the TV show the Bear I think there are a lot of similarities: fine motor skills, time pressure, small team all working to get an exceptional outcome for customers and the relationships and loyalty of people who had a great experience and want to keep coming back. Or maybe it’s because I love food.
My favourite type of dental treatment is…
Same day Cerec crowns – where you take a tooth that is pretty beaten up or broken down and take it apart, rebuild and restore it all with a ceramic restoration using advanced technology, within a couple of hours.
My favourite thing to do on the Gold Coast in my spare time is…
Surf. If there’s unfortunately no waves, I love going to the gym, running, eating out and cooking and watching all forms of sport.
